Over P1.5-M shabu seized from couple in Zambales

PAMPANGA’S CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – On Saturday, more than PHP1.5 million in illegal drugs were seized from a couple during an anti-drug operation in Subic town, Zambales province.

Colonel Fitz Macariola, director of the Zambales Police Provincial Office, stated in his report that the arrested pair was identified as Joemmeir John and Angelica Leapart, who are currently residing in Sitio Bukid, Barangay Calapacuan in Subic.

According to Macariola, 14 pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu totaling 227.2 grams with an estimated street value of PHP1,544,960, drug paraphernalia, a sling bag, and PHP3,000 marked money were confiscated from the suspects.

He went on to say that Joemmeir John is a member of the Naldi Drug Group and that he is a ‘high priority regional level target’ of the Philippine National Police.

The apprehended pair will be accused in the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office in Olongapo City for violating Sections 5, 11, and 26b of Article II of Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
