RIYADH: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman landed in Egypt on an official visit on Monday, according to Al-Ekhbariya.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi greeted Prince Mohammed upon his arrival in Cairo.
According to King Salman’s orders, the crown prince will go to Jordan and Turkey following his journey to Africa.
He will meet with the presidents of these countries to discuss bilateral relations and strategies to strengthen them across the board.
Saudi-Egyptian relations have been strong, with special significance for the Arab world. The two countries have always viewed each other as significant regional friends, dating back to May 7, 1936, when Egypt officially recognized the Saudi state.
Over the years, the two countries have grown stronger and maintained close diplomatic connections, overcoming difficulties and divisions even during turbulent times.
“Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to Cairo on Monday to see President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is an extension of an uninterrupted route of strategic collaboration and consultation,” stated Saudi ambassador to Egypt Osama bin Ahmed Nugali in Arab News.
“The crown prince’s visit cements and celebrates the bonds that have grown only stronger throughout the years,” the envoy added.
