NEW YORK – Elon Musk says a future in-person confrontation with Mark Zuckerberg will be streamed live on his social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
The two tech millionaires appeared to have agreed to a “cage match” in late June. Zuckerberg is actually trained in mixed martial arts, and the CEO of Facebook’s parent company Meta wrote earlier this year about finishing his first jiu jitsu event.
“Zuck v Musk fight will be live-streamed on X,” Musk wrote in a post on the platform on Sunday. “All proceeds will be donated to a veteran’s charity.”
“Shouldn’t we use a more reliable platform that can actually raise money for charity?” Zuckerberg responded on his Threads social media account.
Musk stated earlier Sunday that he was lifting weights in preparation for the fight.
“Don’t have time to work out, so I just bring them to work,” Musk explained.
“I’m ready today,” Zuckerberg responded on Threads. When he first challenged, I suggested August 26, but he hasn’t confirmed. I’m not going to hold my breath. I enjoy this sport and will continue to compete with individuals who train regardless of what happens here.”
