WAD MADANI, Sudan – Thirty-nine civilians, including women and children, were murdered when shelling hit their homes on Tuesday in Sudan’s war-torn western region of Darfur, medics and witnesses reported.
According to the sources, the incident took place in Nyala, the seat of Darfur South state, from which 50,000 people have been forced to escape since August 11, according to the UN.
