LONDON – The two remaining Britons killed in an Egyptian boat fire have been identified, according to Sky News.
Stephen Hill and Paul Darling, along with fellow Briton Christina Quinn, were killed when their yacht, the Hurricane, caught fire after a suspected electrical issue.
They were among 15 licensed divers who had planned a weeklong excursion together. The 12 that escaped were taking part in a briefing on deck, while the three Britons were sleeping in their cabins.
A second vessel that had been near to the Hurricane at the time of the fire rescued the survivors, while 14 crew members abandoned ship after failing to save the sleeping Britons.
Social media videos show the Hurricane engulfed in flames and smoke as people jump overboard.
While no further information about Hill or Darling has been released, Quinn has previously been identified as the 58-year-old CEO of St. Luke’s Hospice in Plymouth.
Her family characterized her as a “sister, daughter, wife, auntie, friend, and rock to many.” She will be sorely missed.”
