Jakarta – The Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ) development would continue after the 2022 MotoGP Pertamina Grand Prix, according to Deputy I of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), Febry Calvin Tetelepta.
“The execution of MotoGP 2022 is merely the beginning of local economic revival,” he said in a statement released here on Saturday.
He stated that he anticipates more national and international events in the area in the future.
He then requested the public to help him carry out the events in order to produce long-term multiplier effects for the community.
He believes that empowering local communities is one of the keys to attaining the multiplier effect of tourism destination development.
This is in conformity with President Joko Widodo’s pledge and orders on the establishment and development of the economic zone, he said.
“The Mandalika area’s growth has been planned holistically from the start. As a result, infrastructural development and local community empowerment must occur concurrently “Tetelepta stated this.
Many tourism-related sectors, including building, accommodation, dining, and transportation, as well as micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), will profit from the multiplier effect of tourism development, he noted.
“The local community will undoubtedly be involved in the event’s implementation. It demonstrates that the Mandalika SEZ is dedicated to the welfare of the Indonesian people, particularly the people of NTB province “He continued.
The 2022 MotoGP pre-season test will be held at the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit from February 11–13, 2022. On the first day of the test, Pol Espargaro was the fastest rider, but Luca Marini outperformed the other rivals on the second day.
Meanwhile, the 2022 MotoGP Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia is scheduled for March 18–20, 2022.
