RAMALLAH (Palestine Territories) – The Israeli soldiers killed a Palestinian man during a raid in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, according to the Palestinian health ministry.
Rafiq Riyad Ghannem, 20, was slain in the town of Jaba after being “shot by the occupation (Israeli army)” near the northern West Bank city of Jenin, according to the ministry. The Israeli military did not reply quickly to a request for comment.
A 17-year-old Palestinian died on Sunday after being shot the day before in another Israeli army assault in the same town.
Since late March, at least 50 Palestinians have been murdered, predominantly in the West Bank, including suspected terrorists and non-combatants.
Following a string of incidents in Israel in recent months, Israeli security forces have begun nearly daily raids in the West Bank.
Nineteen people have been killed, largely Israeli civilians inside Israel, in attacks carried out by Palestinians and Israeli Arabs. Three more Arab Israeli attackers were also murdered.
