PT Solmax Geosynthetics introduced various innovative geosynthetic and geotextile technology products for infrastructure development in the IKN area.
The product introduction was carried out through a two-day seminar held on 11-12 July 2023 at the JADE Room, 16th Floor of the Grand Sudirman Building, Golden Tulip Hotel, Balikpapan, East Kalimantan.
The seminar was held on Tuesday (11/07/2023) at 08.00 – 17.00 WIB with the theme “Geosynthetics Applications for the Development of IKN” which explored the application of geosynthetic products for the development of IKN.
The seminar presented experts from outside and within the country including: Marcus Jong Ching Joo (Technical Services Manager Solmax Geosynthetics), Su Jong Haio (Technical Sales Manager Solmax Geosynthetics), Tan Jun Yuen (Senior Technical Engineer Solmax Geosynthetics), Doyo Lujeng Dwiarso (Country Manager PT Solmax Geosynthetics Indonesia), Teuku Radenal Amir (Design Engineer PT Solmax Geosynthetics Indonesia).
Doyo Lujeng Dwiarso (Country Manager of PT Solmax Geosynthetics Indonesia) in his opening remarks said that PT Solmax Geosynthetics Indonesia has a mission to contribute to the development of civil and environmental infrastructure in Indonesia through good and sustainable technology.
“PT Solmax Geosynthetics Indonesia as one of the big companies in the world that produces almost all types of geosynthetics has a mission to contribute to the development of civil and environmental infrastructure in Indonesia in a better way, namely through products or technologies that are sustainable,” explained Doyo Lujeng Dwiarso when giving the opening remarks of the seminar.
Doyo Lujeng added that the technology applied by PT Solmax will later apply infrastructure development technology by reducing the use of carbon footprints, implementing more effective time and more efficient costs.
In his presentation, Doyo Lujeng explained that one of PT Solmax’s superior products is currently also being implemented in development activities in the IKN area.
“The Mirafi PET100/50 woven geotextile product is one of PT Solmax’s products with the advantages of high tensile strength and low elongation which is currently being used as embankment reinforcement in IKN projects such as in KIPP (Central Government Core Area) of Sumbu Barat and Sumbu Timur,” said Doyo Lujeng.
Meanwhile, another speaker, Marcus Jong Ching Joo (Technical Services Manager of Solmax Geosynthetics) gave a detailed presentation of the design details for reinforcement of embankments on piles, reinforcement of walls and slopes with geosynthetics.
Marcus also explained several new product innovations from the Solmax manufacturer, including the H2Rx.
“The new innovative product from the manufacturer Solmax, namely Mirafi H2Rx, is very suitable for handling subgrades with expansive soils. If anyone asks, please do a trial or experiment for soil conditions in Indonesia,” explained Marcus in the seminar.
Then the seminar resource person Tan Jun Yuen (Senior Technical Engineer Solmax Geosynthetics) explained a lot about the technology for handling slope erosion, river and beach erosion with PT Solmax’s new innovative products such as TM13c, geobag, sandfilled mattress and Geotube.
Su Jong Haio (Technical Sales Manager of Solmax Geosynthetics) in his presentation presented innovative technology from PT Solmax, namely the selection of geomembrane impermeable layers such as HDPE and LLDPE types and their applications such as base layers and TPA (Final Landfill) covers, pond bottom layers and other applications.
Su Jong Haio also explained new innovations from other geomembrane products such as types that can detect leaks through electrical induction, white products that can be used for resort pools that have high aesthetics.
Doyo Lujeng Dwiarso in the closing session of the seminar said that seminars would be held regularly in other areas as part of PT Solmax Geosynthetics’ efforts to realize sustainable development in Indonesia.
The Geosynthetic Application Seminar for IKN Development held by PT Solmax Geosynthetics Indonesia was attended by participants from stakeholders such as representatives from the Ministry of PUPR (from the Highways, Water Resources and Human Settlements sectors), representatives of consultants and contractors involved in the IKN project, the academics (among them from Civil Engineering University of Balikpapan) and partners & distributors of Solmax Geosynthetics.
