Jakarta- Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno has encouraged Central Sulawesi’s regional administration to make efforts to boost regional tourism that are focused on economic recovery.
“Culinary, craft, fashion, and a burgeoning film sub-sector in Central Sulawesi are some of the attractive sub-sectors of the creative economy,” he said at the Sapta Pesona Building in Jakarta, according to a news release received here on Tuesday (January 25, 2022).
Uno said he had visited Central Sulawesi numerous times and said the area is rich in natural resources, with a variety of tourist attractions and a thriving creative industry.
He stated that his goal is to return to Central Sulawesi with policies and initiatives that are successful and efficient.
“I’ve visited Central Sulawesi several times and, aside from Palu, haven’t had the opportunity to visit Poso. In August 2022, I will attend the Lake Poso festival,” he added.
He stated that his ministry will implement measures to increase public welfare, create jobs, and empower micro, small, and medium businesses (MSMEs).
He said the efforts were in line with the Central Sulawesi government’s goals and President Joko Widodo’s directives to eliminate unemployment, poverty, and stabilize prices in the region.
“I feel that the community wishes to (improve) as quickly as feasible. This is what the people require in order for the (entire) community to prosper equally, as tourism can provide possibilities for everyone and create job (opportunities) six times faster than other industries,” he added.
