RIYADH: Saudi Arabia criticized and denounced an Israeli occupation forces bombardment on the Gaza Strip on Saturday, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
As cross-border fire echoed for a second day in the greatest escalation since last year’s conflict, Israel’s military warned that lethal air raids against Palestinian terrorists in Gaza might last a week.
The foreign ministry stated that the Kingdom stands behind the Palestinian people and urged the international community to take responsibility for ending the escalation.
Health officials in the Palestinian enclave controlled by the Islamist party Hamas said a five-year-old child was among 15 persons killed since Friday, with over 140 injured.
Saudi Arabia also urged the international community to protect civilians and make all efforts to end the long-running conflict, according to the ministry.
