Jakarta – The ASEAN Football Federation Under 18 (AFF U-18) Women’s Championship will be held in Indonesia in 2023, according to Nadalsyah, the president of the Indonesian Women’s Football Association (ASBWI).
According to a written statement made here on Friday, ASBWI is presently preparing the strongest squad to compete in the tournament.
“We will have a U-16 tournament this year because we will host the AFF U-18 Championship next year. In this manner, we will be able to assemble a strong squad in a year’s time,” he stated.
Nadalsyah, who is also the chairman of the North Barito district, declined to provide the precise date of the AFF U-18 tournament in 2023. He assured that the organizing group would continue to make preparations for the event.
He also stated that ASWBI will arrange further women’s football events.
“Nothing happens instantly in football, according to the president of the PSSI (All Indonesia Football Association). In addition to the Pertiwi Cup, we will arrange the ASBWI Cup and leagues for children as young as U-10, U-12, and U-17, ” he informed them.
The Pertiwi Cup 2021–2022, which will consist of eight matches, will begin on Friday.
The competition features 19 teams who have advanced through the qualification stage at a PSSI provincial level. The groupings of teams have been separated into four.
