Israel’s National Security Council has issued a high-level travel warning for Egypt, including the Sinai region, and Jordan, urging its citizens to leave these countries immediately due to heightened regional tensions related to the conflict in Gaza. This advisory follows Israel’s recent recall of diplomats from Turkey as a precaution.
The decision to evacuate citizens comes in the midst of widespread protests across the Middle East in response to Israel’s military actions in the Gaza Strip. The conflict began when Hamas militants entered Israel from Gaza, leading to a hostage situation and significant casualties.
Israel has since launched a campaign to dismantle Hamas, resulting in the destruction of parts of Gaza and a significant number of Palestinian casualties, primarily civilians, according to the Hamas-run health ministry.
