General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Sudan’s military leader, announced a major reshuffling of the country’s military leadership on Thursday, amid political and economic turmoil.
The military’s land forces, operations, and supply chiefs, as well as the general inspector, have all been replaced.
A change in air force leadership had previously been announced, while the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mohamed Osman Alhussein, remained in his position.
This is the most significant change in army leadership since the October 25 coup led by Burhan and other generals ended a transitional partnership with civilian political groups.
