BPJS Kesehatan seeks promotional, preventive service optimization

jakarta – The state-owned Healthcare and Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan) has urged first-level health facilities (FKTPs), mostly public health clinics, to improve promotional and preventative services.

“FKTPs must coordinate and optimize promotional and preventative services,” BPJS Kesehatan President Director Ali Ghufron Mukti stated in a news release published on Saturday.

“This is done to build a healthy ecology for all JKN-KIS (National Health Insurance and Healthy Indonesia Card) members,” he continued.

The performance of all FKTPs, which is tied to their capitation (KBK) calculation, is predicted to increase as a result of their strong commitment to executing promotional-preventive service initiatives.

It is also anticipated to provide individuals with a healthy atmosphere.

To evaluate capitation, the KBK considers all efforts made by FKTPs, including promotional and preventative activities under the JKN-KIS program, in performance calculations.

Providing teleconsultations during the epidemic is likewise calculated as an FTKP performance achievement that influences the KBK contact number.

BPJS Kesehatan has asked all FKTPs to innovate in order to provide remote service and make it easier for JKN-KIS members to access.

“We anticipate that the FKTPs will be able to deliver primary services to JKN-KIS members to completion in order to reduce the risk or aggravation of illness,” Mukti said.

BPJS Kesehatan strives to improve services by offering the Mobile JKN application, the BPJS Kesehatan website, the Chat Assistant JKN (CHIKA), and FKTPs for obtaining health history screening and health examination services.

According to BPJS Kesehatan, the number of JKN-KIS members who used health history screening services in 2021 was 2,205,979, significantly larger than the previous year’s figure of 195,675.

Mukti previously stated that BPJS Kesehatan has planned a variety of actions in the event that the COVID-19 pandemic status shifts to endemic.

In a statement made on Wednesday, he stated that one of the approaches will be to reinforce FKTPs as gatekeepers.
