Jakarta – Environmental issues and climate change are becoming more prominent as nature diminishes at an unprecedented rate and level. Continuous innovation and mass movements are required to mitigate the effects of crises.
By making advances in its many business segments, Korindo Group recognizes the need to develop into a more ecologically friendly organization. Cibubur Square Rest Area is an example of this, with which the corporation is attempting to ease organic waste dumping difficulties. The public facility, run by Korindo Group, contains a bioconversion waste processing plant that uses BSF (Black Soldier Flies) as its biological agent.
“Poor food waste management methods continue to be pervasive in many regions, and these practices have long-term harmful effects on nature and human health.” That is why we established this building,” stated Seo Jeongsik, General Secretary of the Korindo Foundation.
Aside from being good to the environment, the bioconversion process is quite safe for the surrounding area and community. The Black Soldier Fly is unique among the world’s 800 fly species due to its non-pathogenic nature and lack of disease agents.
This is the foundation’s second initiative with Forest For Life Indonesia (FFLI). They developed a comparable plant in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, in 2018.
For many years, Korindo Group has worked to be more environmentally responsible, particularly in the development of its businesses. The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) recognized its Paper Division as an environmentally friendly paper producer due to its utilization of recycled goods.
Recycling, as we all know, is one method for addressing environmental issues caused by deforestation. Despite using recycled materials, Korindo Group maintains product quality by adhering to the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
Korindo’s Paper Division is one of Southeast Asia’s leading suppliers of newsprint. Its mill has DIP (Deinked Pulp) and paper machines with a combined capacity of 330,000 MT per year. With such a huge capacity, the Division collaborates with a number of prestigious media firms, both domestic and international (Japan, United States, European countries).
With over 50 years of experience, Korindo Group is also the region’s only wind tower producer. Wind turbines assist enterprises in producing environmentally safe renewable energy.
The firm has a capacity of 500 towers each year and has received ISO 14001:2000, ISO 9001:2000, and The National Board of Boiler & Pressure vessel DIN 18800-7 Class E Japan H-Grade certification. Over 3,000 towers (6 gigatonnes) have been built and delivered around the world to far.
Korindo Group, a South East Asian market leader in numerous industries, has much to be proud of. Over the course of our 50-year history, we’ve grown our company by making a substantial contribution to the country’s economic development while also adhering to ecologically responsible, future-oriented policies.
