Bogor – The Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) of Bogor District, West Java, reported that hotel occupancy in the Puncak district of Bogor reached 70% over the Eid holiday season.
“The entire occupancy rate may be between 60 and 70 percent,” said Boboy Ruswanto, Deputy Chair of the Bogor District PHRI, here on Thursday.
According to Ruswanto, the recorded occupancy rate exceeded PHRI’s estimates. He concluded that the online hotel reservation system contributed to the increase in hotel occupancy rate.
During the Eid vacation seasons the previous two years, he saw that guests rarely booked hotel rooms using online platforms. Furthermore, the government’s policies were changing all the time.
Despite the low COVID-19 transmission rate in Bogor District, Ruswanto stressed that hotel visitors were still need to follow COVID-19 health measures.
He stated that the PHRI had inquired about the traffic engineering timetable for the one-way system on the Puncak Bogor road during the Eid vacation.
He stated that providing visitors with up-to-date information is critical to preventing them from canceling their visit due to traffic congestion on the route.
According to Ruswanto, hotels along the Puncak road require knowledge on traffic engineering schedules such as the one-way system and the odd-even scheme.
Nonetheless, he confessed that he still supports the Bogor Police’s policies.
He believes, however, that the police should keep track of when tourists enter and go from the Puncak area.
“We continue to receive updates from the Traffic Police regarding traffic information, so that guests can also get it,” he said.
The Indonesian government has announced that the collective vacation days for the Eid al-Fitr holiday in 2022 will be on April 29 and May 4-6, 2022.
