257 Homes Damaged By 6.6 Magnitude Earthquake in Banten Province

A total of 257 housing units were damaged after the M 6.6 earthquake in Pandeglang Regency, Banten Province, Friday (14/01/2022).

The data as collected from the Control and Operations Center (Pusdalops) of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Saturday (15/01/2022) as of 00:25 WIB.

The most damage data details are in Pandeglang Regency with a total of 26 units severely damaged houses, moderately damaged 33 units, lightly damaged 131 units, including 10 school units, 1 health center, 1 factory, 1 government office, 1 place of worship and 1 business place.

Serang Regency reported 16 units of moderately damaged houses. Then in Lebak Regency there were as many as 12 units of houses severely damaged, 3 units moderately damaged, 21 lightly damaged and 3 units of school buildings. In addition, it was also reported that one resident suffered minor injuries affected by the earthquake.

Furthermore, in Sukabumi Regency there are 3 units of moderately damaged houses and 6 units of houses lightly damaged and in Bogor Regency there are 8 moderately damaged houses.

Earthquakes Felt in 11 Regions

The earthquake, which was centered at 7.21 LS and 105.05 BT at a depth of 40 kilometers, was felt strongly for 2-4 seconds at 11 locations in the western regions of Java and South Sumatra Island. The shock made the community scatter out of the room to save themselves from the unwanted.

The details include Pandeglang Regency, Serang Regency, Serang City and Lebak Regency in Banten Province. Then Cianjur Regency, Sukabumi Regency, Bogor Regency, Bogor City and Depok City in West Java. Next is Jakarta Province and West Lampung Regency.

In anticipation, the community is expected to avoid buildings that are cracked or damaged by the earthquake. It is also recommended that the community remain calm and ensure official information is sourced from parties that can be accounted for. (*)
