Iran Guards say Israel facing ‘heavy price’ for attacks in Gaza

DUBAI: The commander of Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards stated on Saturday that Israel would pay a severe price for its recent strikes on Palestinians in Gaza, according to Iranian state TV.

“The Israelis will pay yet another terrible price for their latest atrocity,” Major General Hossein Salami was quoted as saying during a meeting with Islamic Jihad leader Ziad Al-Nakhala, who is presently in Iran.

After an Israeli operation against the Islamic Jihad militant group broke more than a year of relative calm along the border, Israeli aircraft struck Gaza on Saturday, and Palestinians fired rockets at Israel.
