Tangerang – PT Angkasa Pura II reported that there were fewer passenger activity at Soekarno-Hatta Airport on the day of the 2022 Eid al-Fitr celebrations compared to the previous day.

“Our observation today, on D-1, the (number of crowd) has slightly decreased compared to its peak during D-3 and D-2,” Muhammad Awaluddin, President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II, said on Sunday at the Eid al-Fitr Transport Command Post at Terminal 1B, Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

He indicated that there were approximately 900 flights on D-1 at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, with a total passenger count of approximately 125,000 persons.

“The peak occurred on D-3, at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, with 1,054 planes carrying roughly 141,000 people,” he stated.

Awaluddin stated that the situation at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport was under control from April 22, 2022 to May 1, 2022, or the day before Eid.
“We appreciate the (great) cooperation of all airport stakeholders, including airlines, airnav, customs, immigration, quarantine, the National Defense Force, and the Police. This is due to the collaborative efforts of the State-Owned Enterprises Ministry and the Transportation Ministry “He made a remark.

He expressed his company’s commitment to preserving Soekarno-Hatta Airport’s security and comfort on a consistent basis.

According to Awaluddin, air transportation offers three advantages when it comes to meeting increased demand, such as during the Eid exodus season.

First, there is flexibility, as prospective customers can select the date and time of departure as well as the airline that best meets their demands.

Second, the capacity of air transportation can be changed in response to demand. If demand is high, the airport operator will work with stakeholders to improve capacity through extra flight mechanisms, flight slot arrangements, and the extending of airport operation hours, among other things.

The third factor is the expansion of connection. Every province in Indonesia is served by air transportation.

“We can fly from one city to another in a short amount of time by taking an aerial path. Air transportation is the most efficient and effective means of transportation in an archipelago country like Indonesia “He reached a conclusion.
