Bandung, West Java – Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Minister Hadi Tjahjanto delivered 2,500 land certificates on Thursday at the Si Jalak Harupat Indoor Building in Bandung district, West Java, to give the people legal assurance about property ownership.

The land certificates were given as part of the province’s Complete Systematic Land Registration (PTSL) initiative, which was conducted in six districts and cities.

“I was asked by the President to release the land certificates quickly,” the minister stated.

The certificates were distributed to 320 Purwakarta district residents, 500 Bandung district residents, 400 Bandung city residents, 150 Sumedang district residents, 130 Cimahi city residents, and 1,000 West Bandung district residents.

Tjahjanto urged the public to properly store the certificates.

He instructed them to make a replica of the certificates if necessary and to keep them dry by encasing them in plastic.

Furthermore, the community must take care of the land by not abandoning or leaving it empty, he added.

He proposed that stakes, fences, or obstacles be constructed at the very least to let others know that the land is owned.

His working visit to the district was intended to assess the functioning of the regional offices for agrarian affairs and spatial planning in the Bandung district and West Java province.

The minister stated that he wanted to guarantee that the offices’ facilities were adequate for conducting the PTSL program as well as other community programs.

Furthermore, he urged the district, city, and province agrarian affairs and spatial planning regional offices to speed the agrarian reform program so that the community has a legal basis for managing their properties.

“Remember, 10.2 million Indonesians rely on agricultural resources for a living,” he stated.
