Jakarta. According to Chief Security Minister Mohammad Mahfud MD, the suspected cause for the murder of Brigadier Nopryansyah Yosua Hutabarat may contain sensitive elements that only adults are permitted to hear.

Yosua was murdered in a shootout with fellow policemen inside the official mansion of police general Ferdy Sambo, who was declared a suspect on Tuesday for allegedly ordering the murder and fabricating the crime scene to corroborate his claim that his subordinate was killed in a shootout with fellow officers.

Ferdy openly accused the murdered cop of harassing his wife after he was probed by investigators last week.

“Let us wait and see what the current inquiry reveals about the motive. It’s possible that only grownups will hear it “He told reporters at his Jakarta office.

It took a month for the National Police to charge the two-star police general with murder.

Ferdy, who was the chief of the Internal Profession and Security Division at the time of the murder, is being held at the headquarters of the Mobile Brigade (Brimob) in Depok, West Java.

“The government respects the National Police and Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo for taking this situation seriously,” Mahfud stated.

His office would continue to follow the case from prosecution to court hearings to ensure a fair trial, he said.

Second Patrolman Richard Eliezer, the accused shooter, should be placed under witness protection because he has volunteered to become a whistleblower in the case, Mahfud stated.

According to National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo during a press conference the day before, Richard is accused of killing Yosua on Ferdy’s orders.

Both men are accused with premeditated murder, which carries the death penalty.

Attorneys for Richard stated last week that he will retire from the police force and seek protection from the Witness and Victim Protection Agency, or LPSK.

Ferdy stole the victim’s gun and fired at the wall to give the impression that Yosua died in a shootout, according to the investigating team.

At least ten high-ranking officers have been suspended for tampering with physical evidence, and 31 officers face disciplinary action for alleged misconduct in the original investigation of the murder.
