International travelers can enter Indonesia via 10 airports: ministry

Jakarta – According to the Transportation Ministry’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation, foreign passengers (PPLNs) can now enter Indonesia through 10 international airports.

“It is regulated in the Circular Letter of the Transportation Minister Number 42 of 2022 concerning Instructions for Implementing Overseas Travel by Air Transportation During the COVID-19 Pandemic, which is effective from April 6, 2022,” Novie Riyanto, the ministry’s Director General of Civil Aviation, said here on Wednesday.

Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Banten), Juanda Airport (East Java), I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport (Bali), Hang Nadim Airport (Riau Islands), Raja Haji Fisabilillah Airport (Riau Islands), and Sam Ratulangi Airport (North Sulawesi) are among the airports he mentioned.

Zainuddin Abdul Madjid Airport (West Nusa Tenggara), Kualanamu Airport (North Sumatra), Sultan Hasanuddin Airport (South Sulawesi), and Yogyakarta International Airport are also included (Yogyakarta).

“In addition, the circular requires PPLNs to have a body temperature of less than 37.5 degrees Celsius and to fulfill other health conditions,” the director general added.

Other requirements include displaying a certificate of the second vaccination dose, received at least 14 days before departure; a negative RT-PCR test result from the country of origin, taken no more than 48 hours before departure; undergoing an RT-PCR test upon arrival; installing the PeduliLindungi app; and filling out the Electronic Health Alert Card (e-HAC) Indonesia.

Riyanto directed that the directors at the directorate general, as well as the heads of the airport authority offices, supervise the circular’s implementation.

“We will also work with the regional government, the military, the police, the airport task force, the port health office, allied ministries/institutions, and aviation stakeholders,” he said.

As a result of the implementation of the Circular Letter of the Transportation Minister Number 42 of 2022, the Circular Letter of the Transportation Minister Number 33 of 2022 has been cancelled and declared null and void.

According to the Circular Letter of the Transportation Minister Number 33 of 2022, there are seven entrance ports for PPLNs in Indonesia.
